For the past two years Unite has embarked on its first truely national Union Learning Fund Project. There have been some big wins and some disappointments for the team across the country. The past two years have been the most difficult for Trade Unions and working people in the past decade, yet still people flock to lifelong learning as a way of improving their working lives.

Over 60,000 Unite members and activists have taken up learning thanks to the efforts of their Union Learning Representatives in the past two years. In the next two years we hope for many more. To achieve this figure we still need more people to take up the role of ULR. Will you make a difference in your workplace in 2012? Over the past two years 395 people have taken up the challenge and are now helping members access learning in their workplaces as ULR's.

As branch elections loom the role of the Union Learning Representative is sometimes overlooked. Lets make a real difference to peoples lives in 2012 by ensuring every recognised Unite workplace has an elected ULR.
